IMPRINTED CREATIVITY: FRAGMENTS OF BEING
MARINA LAZARUS
In spirit, I am Bohemian,
In heart, Greek,
In prayers, Armenian,
In mind, a citizen of the world.

ART OF BEING THE ARTIST
ARTIST'S STATEMENT
Without roots, there are no wings.
The olive tree planted by my ancestors has deep and enduring roots. It reminds me that life and nature are not only surrounding us—they are feeding our imagination, grounding us while giving us the strength to soar beyond the limits of ordinary existence.
Inspiration enters through the heart, and the soul shapes the mind. I am drawn to moments of artistic beauty that speak to the wonder of creation itself.
Where photographs fall silent, I speak with my pen; when my pen is still, my photographs find their voice. The tree of my creative life—like all trees—grows in two directions: downwards into the soil of my heritage, and upwards toward the sky of endless possibility. I believe that true artistic growth comes from this dynamic balance: a deep connection to one's roots and the freedom to reach for new heights.
From deep roots, the most expansive and liberating wings can grow. I chose Marina Lazarus as my photographer's pseudonym and pen name—Lazarus, meaning "God is my Helper." This name carries deep personal meaning. It is a tribute to my beloved Greek mother, Nina Lazaridou. Her strength, spirit, and love continue to guide my creative path with grace and resilience.
To be an artist is not merely to create, but to become—to live in constant dialogue with the visible and the invisible, the spoken and the silent. The true art lies not only in the finished work but in the way one sees, feels, and responds to the world. It is a daily discipline of presence, vulnerability, and courage.
In the end, the art of being the artist is the art of being fully alive, with eyes open, soul attuned, and heart unafraid to be changed by beauty, by pain, by truth.

Behind every photograph lies a story— a fleeting moment of life, a surge of emotions, a smile that carries memories, a whisper of peace for the soul, a snapshot of society, a fragment of the Universe captured in time. It's where creative vibes meet the beauty of nature, intertwining with the world's raw, unspoken energy.
