If the world were a woman today...

29/07/2025
As a woman, I have no country. As a woman, my country is the whole world.
Virginia Woolf

Everyday artistic selfies were united in this project as quiet offerings—each frame not merely a portrait, but a self-portrait: a monologue of the soul in dialogue with the world. This visual narrative does not aim to capture my appearance alone, but to reflect the unseen landscapes within me, where memory, emotion, and time collide. Each image becomes a mirror not only of who I am, but of how the world lives through me, shifts within me, and leaves its light or shadows upon my spirit. In this ongoing collection, the self-portrait transforms into a living archive—a poetic testimony where the personal becomes universal, and the face becomes a window to something far deeper.

If the world were a woman today, perhaps she too would take a self-portrait—not to be seen, but to be remembered.

I chose seven portraits, each representing a day of the week—a quiet rhythm of everyday life. These are not grand or staged images; they are simple, honest reflections of a woman moving through time in the 21st century. I am not Marina Lazarus here. I am just a woman—one among many—who loves, observes, and creates. In these self-portraits, the ordinary becomes sacred: a morning glance, a shadow on the wall, the weariness of Thursday, the lightness of Saturday. Each image holds a fragment of the world as it meets me—through silence, fatigue, joy, or memory. The ordinary is not an end, but a bridge to imagination. It is where art begins—not in perfection, but in presence. Through these seven portraits, I invite the viewer to pause and see not just me, but the shared, overlooked poetry of daily existence.

IF THE WORLD WERE A WOMAN TODAY...

Through self-portraits, the author reflects on the question:

What if the world were a woman today?...

If the world were a woman today, she would turn silence into song

If the world were a woman today, she would paint with light

If the world were a woman today, she would laugh in colors.

If the world were a woman today, she would breathe poetry.

If the world were a woman today, she would smile wisdom into hearts.
